By now you are getting your food, clothes and cab all at the push of a button on an App on your mobile. What next, you ask? Well, you can now have access to a complete OPD through an App. Yes that’s right.
Lybrate is a medical App which allows you to discuss your health issues with doctors from all over India, while sipping tea in your drawing room, or just relaxing in your bedroom.
The app was founded by Saurabh Arora, a former Facebook employee, who worked at the FB headquarter in the US as a data scientist before coming back to India to kick start his own App. He launched Lybrate in January 2015 and in the same year the app made it to the top 25 apps on Apple’s App store. For Saurabh, launching this new app was also a stride towards contributing to fixing India's healthcare problem. Saurabh Arora, CEO & Founder, Lybrate says “Shortage of healthcare experts is the core problem of Indian healthcare delivery system. By using technology, Lybrate is multiplying the presence of doctors and enabling people to talk to healthcare experts from anywhere, anytime. We envision to make healthcare accessible to the billion plus people of India”. So far Lybrate has been downloaded three million times on a variety of devices.
Lybrate connects its users to more than 100,000 doctors and health experts from varied branches of medicine from across India.

And you can also book an appointment and visit the doctor at their clinic at your preferred time. The app keeps you updated with all new developments in the health sector. There are multiple live updates and tips from the doctors including homemade remedies and fitness tips.
Lybrate has also launched its service on Facebook Messenger’s bot platform and it is Indian Medical Association’s digital partner.
Now in order to thrive as a health app and a social cause, the challenge will be to reach the rural parts of India where medical support is minimal.
