Assembly Elections: Five states to go to polls in Nov – seats, first time voters and more

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh, which has 230 seats, will go to elections on November 17. The state has 64,523 polling stations, out of which 16,763 are in urban areas and 47,760 are in rural areas.

The electorate

Madhya Pradesh has 5.61 crore registered voters, out of which 22.36 lakh voters are first-time voters. Interestingly, the state also has 5,124 senior voters who are older than 100 years.

Rajasthan

Rajasthan will go to elections on November 23, with 200 seats up for grabs. The state has 51,575 polling stations, out of which 10,415 are in urban areas and 41,341 are in rural areas.

The electorate

Rajasthan has 5.27 crore registered voters, of which 22.04 lakh voters are first-time voters. The number of voters above the age of 100 years is much higher in Rajasthan at 17,241 voters.

Telangana

Coming to the south, Telangana, which has 119 seats, will go to elections on November 30. The state has 35,356 polling stations, out of which 14,464 are in urban areas and 20,892 are in rural areas.

Telangana has 3.17 crore registered voters, of which 8.11 lakh voters are first-time voters. Despite a lower population than Madhya Pradesh, Telangana has 7,005 voters who are above the age of 100 years.

Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh, which has 90 seats, will go to election in two phases – 20 seats on November 7 and 70 seats on November 17. The state has 24,109 polling stations, out of which 4,851 are in urban areas and 19,258 are in rural areas.

Chhattisgarh has 2.04 crore registered voters, out of which 7.23 lakh voters are first-time voters. The state has 2,462 voters who are over 100 years old.

Mizoram

The Northern state of Mizoram, which has 40 seats, will go to elections on November 7. The state has 1,276 polling stations, out of which 525 are in urban areas and 751 are in rural areas.

The electorate

The electorate of Mizoram is considerably lower at 8.57 lakh voters. Out of this, 50,611 are first time voters and 578 voters are above the age of 100 years.
