Three discharged from AIIMS, Raipur after COVID-19 recovery

Raipur, Apr 14 () Three persons were discharged onTuesday from the the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) here in Chhattisgarh after their recovery fromcoronavirus infection, Health officials said.

With this, the total number of people discharged afterrecovery has reached to 13 in the state while that of activecases to 20, they said.

"The three patients--all men-- hailing from Katghoratown of the state's Korba district were discharged after theirtwo consecutive tests came out negative for coronavirus," apublic relations official at the AIIMS told .

Now, 20 patients are undergoing treatment at theAIIMS, he said, adding that three of them were admitted afterbeing tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

Katghora, located around 200 kms from Raipur, hasemerged as the coronavirus hotspot in Chhattisgarh with 24confirmed cases reported so far.

On April 4, a 16-year-old boy from a 16-memberTablighi Jamaat group staying in a mosque in Purani Basti areaof Katghora had tested positive for coronavirus, after which23 others in the area who had come in contact with Tablighisalso tested positive in the last one week.

"Out of the 4821 samples sent for screening until nowin the state, 33 tested positive while 4319 came out negative.Reports of 469 are awaited," he said.

As many as 75837 people, most of them with travelhistory to abroad or other affected states, have been placedunder home quarantine as a precautionary measure, officialsadded. TKPNSK NSK
