PM spoke on spike in coronavirus cases in June-July: Singh Deo
He also said that the PM did not speak about endingthe lockdown, which remains in force till May 3.
Singh Deo took part in the meeting with Chief MinisterBhupesh Baghel.
"It was the PM's fourth such interaction with statechief ministers, wherein nine states were kept in talkingmode...The summary of the PMs video conference was that thecoronavirus will be with us for a longer period. He (PM) gavethis clear message that coronavirus will be among us," SinghDeo told reporters.
"The PM said that spike in cases could happen in Juneand July so the coronavirus will be among us for a long periodand (present) activities must be done keeping this in view,"the Health minister said.
He said the prime minister expressed the view thatgreen, orange and red zones (division of areas on the bass ofthe number of coronavirus positive cases) are fluid in nature.
"The green zone can become an orange zone while anorange can become a red zone, and the condition could becomeworse in red zones. It would be wrong to assume that if we arein a green zone, we will never get affected," Singh Deo quotedthe PM as telling the chief ministers.
The PM dubbed green zones as a "teerth sthal" (apilgrimage spot) in view of the present situation, theminister said.
Meanwhile, replying to a query on the coronavirusscenario in Chhattisgarh, Singh Deo said the situation wasunder control, but the spike can happen anytime.
State Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Chief SecretaryRP Mandal, Director General of Police DM Awasthi and otherofficials were present along with the CM during the videoconference.
CM Baghel had earlier written to the PM demanding afinancial assistance of Rs 30,000 crore in the next threemonths for relief and welfare schemes in view of thecoronavirus pandemic, which has adversely affected economicactivities.
