From Delhi to Nagpur to Hyderabad ⁠— pictures of people visiting malls and religious places as India slowly reopens

  • The Modi government in its latest guidelines Unlocke 1.0 relaxed lockdown in India and allowed several places including malls, and shopping complexes to re-open — after they remained shut for over 60 days.
  • But there were hardly a handful of people visible in malls as people fear coronavirus infection.
  • Religious places like temples, Gurudwaras and mosques saw relatively higher footfall.
Sarthak Surya, a Delhi University student, stepped out today to experience the hustle bustle of malls after remaining mostly indoors at his Malviya Nagar residence in New Delhi for over 60 days. However, much to his surprise, fewer people stepped outside to visit malls and other religious places.


The Modi government in its latest guidelines Unlock 1.0, relaxed lockdown in India and allowed several places including malls, and shopping complexes to re-open — after they remained shut for over 60 days.


But there were hardly a handful of people visible in malls as people fear coronavirus infection.
