Odisha among top 2 states in controlling COVID-19: Govt

Bhubaneswar, Apr 20 () The Centre on Mondayappreciated Odisha for being among top two states incontaining and combating the COVID-19 pandemic efficiently,officials said here.

Odisha and Kerala have the best performing doublerates for COVID-19 (growth of infection). The two states havemanaged contact tracing and case management very well inCOVID-19 cases, leading to highest doubling rate in thecountry of more than 30 days.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare databetween April 12 and 18 said that Odisha and Kerala have thebest-performing doubling rates of positive COVID-19 cases.

While cases doubled in Kerala in 67.2 days, it was34.12 days in case of Odisha. The union territory ofChandigarh registered doubling of cases in 45.7 days, theofficials said.

Third in the list of states is Chhattisgarh, which hasseen positive cases double in 27.8 days during the period, theofficials added. AAMRG RG
