No relaxations in TN; Lockdown curbs to continue till May 3

Chennai, Apr 20 () The Tamil Nadu government on Mondaysaid the prohibitory orders enforced in the state to implementthe ongoing coronavirus-triggered lockdown will continue tillMay 3. The decision had been taken to intensify steps to preventfurther spread of the deadly virus, an official release heresaid. Tamil Nadu is one of the worst affected states with 1,477positive cases and 16 deaths. "To implement stringent measures to prevent further spreadof the pandemic, the state government has decided to followthe prohibitory orders, (implemented) according to the StateDisaster Mangement Act 2005 and other curbs till May 3, 2020as announced by the Central government," it said. Existing exemptions given to essential services willcontinue, it said. SAVS VS
