Navy choppers honour COVID-19 warriors in AP

Visakhapatnam, May 3 (): Helicopters of the IndianNavy showered flowers on the main hospitals here as a mark ofgratitude to the frontline health workers who were renderingyeoman service in the ongoing fight against the dreadedcoronavirus pandemic.

The Naval choppers from the Eastern Naval Command hereflew past the designated Covid-19 hospitals the state-runChest and Communicable Diseases Hospital and the private GitamHospital on Sunday morning and showered flowers.

Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff lined up on thehospital premises and acknowledged the Defence forcesgesture.

The ENC officers later felicitated the doctors and othermedical staff in a thanksgiving gesture. Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat had on Fridayannounced that the three services will carry out a series ofactivities to thank the "corona warriors". DBVVS VS
