MP forest dept traps leopard from IIT Indore campus

Indore, Jun 7 () A leopard that wandered into the 501-acre Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore campus in Simrol area near here was trapped on Sunday morning and handed over to the forest department, an official said.

The leopard was spotted in the campus, some 30 kilometres from the city, on Wednesday after which a cage was placed to trap it, he added.

"There are forests surrounding the campus and the leopard may have wandered in from there. A leopard was caught from the campus last year as well. A hyena has also been seen here," an official said. HWP ADU BNM BNM
