Manipur and Goa declared Coronavirus-free as all patients recover

- Manipur and Goa have become Coronavirus free and Nagaland has not reported any Coronavirus case so far.
- Manipur reported that the second patient in the state recovered on April 19.
- Goa reported seven Coronavirus cases and the state’s last patient recovered on April 19.

At a time when states across the country are reporting dozens of new Coronavirus cases every day, Goa and Manipur have been declared Coronavirus free as all patients in the states have recovered.While Goa had reported seven Coronavirus patients in the state, Manipur reported two cases. Goa’s final patient was discharged on April 19 and Manipur discharged its final patient on April 19, becoming the second state to be declared as ‘Corona-free’.
Manipur becomes second Corona free state
Manipur had reported two cases of Coronavirus, including a 25-year old woman who had returned from the UK and a 65-year-old man who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Nizamuddin.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced on Twitter that both the patients in the state have recovered.
“I am glad to share that Manipur is now Corona free.Both patients have fully recovered and have tested negative.There are no fresh cases of the virus in the state.This has been possible because of cooperation of public & medical staff and strict enforcement of lockdown.” said N Biren Singh.

Goa has not reported any new case since April 3
Goa on April 19 reported that its seventh patient has fully recovered and has been discharged from the hospital. Out of the seven patients in the state, six patients had international travel history and the seventh person was the brother of a patient.
Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant announced on Twitter that the last Coronavirus patient in the state has tested negative. He also added that the state has not reported any new Coronavirus case since April 3.
“A moment of satisfaction and relief for Goa as the last active Covid-19 case tests negative. Team of Doctors and the entire support staff deserves applause for their relentless effort. No new positive case in Goa after 3rd April 2020.” Sawant said in a Tweet.
