In the latest move against the coronavirus pandemic, Maharashtra has announced compulsory RT-PCR testing for travelers coming into the state from Delhi, Gujrat, Rajasthan and Goa. The passengers will now have to show negative test results on entering Maharashtra.

The sample for the test should have been collected within 72 hours prior to the scheduled travel.

The news comes as Maharashtra was also mulling shutting down flights between Delhi and Mumbai. However, no decision has been taken on the same as of yet.

The rising number of coronavirus cases in the states of Delhi, Gujrat, Rajasthan and Goa has put others on alert. Maharashtra, which has long been one of the worst hit states during the pandemic, had also ordered for schools and colleges in Mumbai to remain shut until December 31.
