Maha: Four new COVID-19 patients in Amravati; tally 476

Amravati, Jun 26 () Four persons, including three women, tested coronavirus positive in Maharashtra's Amravati on Friday, which took the district's count of patients to 476, officials said.

A 34-year-man, who belongs to Anjangaon Surji town in Daryapur tehsil, tested positive in Dhamangaon railway tehsil. This took the COVID-19 count in the district's rural areas to 42, a statement issued by the civil surgeon's office said.

A 27-year-old woman was found infected in Amravati city's Motinagar locality, it said.

Badnera, which has emerged as a hotspot in the district, added one more case to its count after a 24-year-old woman from Weekly Bazar locality tested positive for the infection, the authorities said.

This took Badnera's case count to 67.

A 47-year-old woman was found positive in Gopalnagar.

Coronavirus has so far claimed 20 lives in the district. The active cases stand at 106 now as 350 patients have recovered, the statement said. COR NP NP
