LPG cylinders to cost upto ₹192 less in several metro cities in India

- The prices of non-subsidised liquefied petroleum (LPG) cylinders witnessed a huge drop between ₹135 to ₹192 on May 1 across various metropolitan cities in India.
- This comes after the sharp decline in global crude oil prices due to coronavirus pandemic.
- An LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost ₹581.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder — which is ₹162.50 down from the earlier price. Whereas, a non-subsidies LPG cylinder will foot a bill of ₹579 in Mumbai.

The prices of non-subsidised liquefied petroleum (LPG) cylinders witnessed a huge drop — between ₹135 to ₹192 — on May 1 across various metropolitan cities in India. An LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost ₹581.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder — which is ₹162.50 down from the earlier price. Whereas, a non-subsidies LPG cylinder will foot a bill of ₹579 in Mumbai. Chennai and Kolkata saw a drop by ₹192 and ₹190 respectively.

This the third consecutive month where LPG cylinders have witnessed a price cut. Despite the panic buying after lockdown, the cost of non-subsidised LPG cylinders was reduced by up ₹65 per cylinder in four metro cities. Whereas, in March the cost of LPG cylinders was reduced by ₹53.
