Summers are here and what better way to enjoy it than eating mangoes. This lockdown, mangoes will come through a different route than usual. Postmen in Karnataka are gearing up to deliver online mango orders on every Friday and Tuesday.

This comes after Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation (KSMDMC) partnered with the Indian Postal Services to dispatch mangoes. A special van of Indian Postal Services will deliver fresh mangoes to people within seven days of receiving the order.

Unfortunately, the services are limited to just Karnataka. People can place their orders on http://karsirimangoes.karnataka.gov.in.

“Farmers will be given a separate login on the website to check orders and what category of mangoes is in demand. They will then have to deliver the mangoes to the Central Post Office in Bengaluru. Since fruits come under essential goods, farmers are allowed to commute and transport their goods to markets,” C G Nagaraj, KSMDMC Managing Director, told The Print.

Moreover, KSMDMC also fixed the price range of the mangoes between ₹90 to ₹170 per kg. People can order 3kg and above mangoes of different varieties including Badami, Sendura and Raspuri.
