Bengaluru, May 11 () Karnataka and Kerala on Mondaydiscussed the measures taken to contain coronavirus andstressed on sharing information to control the disease besidesquality treatment for patients.

Through video conference, Karnataka Medical EducationMinister D K Sudhakar spoke to the Kerala Health Minister K KShailaja and discussed the steps adopted for tracing, testingand treatment of the disease, the outcome, and measures to betaken to address the challenges following easing of lockdownrestrictions, an official release said.

They discussed control and treatment practicesadopted to fight COVID-19 and shared details in their50-minute conversation.

The two ministers agreed to have regular dialogue toexchange information on disease control and quality treatmentfor patients.

Explaining the steps taken for better management ofCOVID-19, Shailaja said that soon after students returned fromWuhan, Kerala had taken proper precautions to prevent spreadof the virus.

The press note quoted Shailaja as saying that Keralais equipped with health facilities at Taluk level and itbecame easier for the state to quarantine the infected andtreat them at various levels.

This has reduced the mortality rate in Kerala, sheadded.

Shailaja said 'Asha' workers have been playing a keyrole in breaking the chain of infection.

In addition to it, the police are taking action toprevent people from coming in contact with infected people.

She appreciated the measures taken by Karnataka andemphasised on its assistance too, the release said. GMSBNWELCOME GMSBNWELCOME
