According to the Bihar water resources department, all major rivers in Bihar are flowing above the danger mark.
Over three lakh people are still in the grip of floods, of which 1.58 lakh people are from Darbhanga district.
The government has opened 7 relief camps to help the affected. With eight community kitchens have been set up in Gopalganj, two in Supaul and 11 in Darbhanga.

All major rivers in Bihar are in spate and are flowing above the danger mark, flooding 37 blocks in eight districts in the state.

The Disaster Management Department said about three lakh people are still in the grip of floods, of which 1.58 lakh people are from Darbhanga district, which is the worst affected— and 290 are of Kishanganj district which is the least affected.

According to the Bihar water resources department, the Bagmati river is flowing above the danger mark at Katouna in Sitamarhi, Beniabad in Muzaffarpur and Hayaghat in Darbhanga. The Kamla Balan river is flowing above the danger mark in Jhanjharpur while the Mahananda has crossed the danger mark in Purnia.

India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mrityunjay Mohapatra, Director General, also said earlier that areas of Bihar and the northeast are expected to get relief from the havoc of monsoon in the coming days. While the stretch between Odisha and Gujarat may witness increased rainfall in the next four-five days, Mohapatra said that more rains are expected in north India as well, especially in east Rajasthan.

Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot has also appealed to the people of the country to extend support to those affected by floods in Assam and Bihar.
