Months after lockdown, 190 people on board the Air India Express flight from Dubai were just about to reach home, when the flight overshot the runway while landing in heavy rains and fell into the valley. The flight was a part of the Vande Bharat Mission, bringing back people stuck in Dubai during lockdown.

The accident occurred at 7.41 pm on Friday. And now, the Kozhikode airport has been closed and all flights have been diverted to Kannur airport, about 80 km away.
