Leonardo DiCaprio joins the list of celebrities to voice their concerns on Delhi’s air pollution

Hollywood actor and an environment activist Leonardo DiCaprio has shared images of the latest protest held in Delhi against rising air pollution-- on his Instagram feed.

DiCaprio reposted images about the protest on November 5 where 1500 people participated. Within 20 hours of the actor posting the image, there were over 7 lakh likes on it



India’s national capital Delhi has been gasping for air as Air Quality Index went beyond 1000 in several parts of the city. As air turned hazardous, schools closed down, corporates offered work from home options and Delhi government implemented the odd-even scheme.

Several celebrities in India like Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza – too have spoken about the toxic air in Delhi on their social media pages.

Last Sunday, a Citizen Mass Meet was organized in Gurgaon to demand corrective measures to fight air pollution. The protestors were hoping to find an amicable solution to stubble burning, unauthorized construction, and burning of coal and wood. They were also suggesting options like improving public transportation – and expanding green cover.

Recently, Indian ride hailing unicorn Ola and global tech giant Microsoft too inked a partnership to measure real-time street air quality index in Delhi.
