This healthcare startup is offering testing facilities in Delhi NCR at ICMR-approved labs

Meddo Health, an outpatient care network, is providing testing facilities in the national capital region. The initiative is being implemented in partnership with ICMR-authorised labs. The price of testing is as per the government directives at ₹4,500.

The patients can book the COVID-19 through its website or mobile application. All they need to do is register on the platform, and submit all the essential documents including the doctor’s prescription, patient proforma and others.

This comes after the Indian government allowed NABL-accredited private labs to test Coronavirus patients, given the significant rise in the infectious cases. As per the guidelines by the National Task Force, the maximum cost of testing can be ₹4,500 — including ₹1,500 for screening.

“We have built a one stop platform for our user base to learn and educate themselves about the virus, have targeted innovations to deploy tools like tele, video consult, symptom checker and sample booking to help provide a seamless experience. We make zero to negative margins on the tests at the capped pricing of ₹4,500,” said Saurabh Kochhar, co-founder, Meddo.

The Gurugram-based healthcare startup is also planning to sell rapid test kits by next week, along with medicine delivery. These rapid test kits can facilitate faster treatment and improved screening analysis as it will be able to show results within 20 minutes of the test.

“We decided to go ahead with the offering as faster and extensive testing is the only way to control the spread of the virus. To that effect, we would also be soon launching rapid test kits that would be cheaper and much faster to administer,” Kochhar added.

Recently, the startup also launched a free teleconsult platform for its doctors. According to Meddo Health, over 200 doctors across 16 specialities have already been added to the network. In fact, doctors who are willing to provide access to medical services to patients during the Coronavirus pandemic can also partner.

In case the patients have any mild or serious symptoms, they can assess the possibility of being infected by the virus via its patient app. The startup has also created a dedicated website with all the details on Coronavirus — including myths, facts and testing information.
