Gujarat govt announces major relaxations in lockdown norms

Ahmedabad, May 18 () In a major relief to peopleaffected due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, the Gujaratgovernment on Monday announced several relaxations, includingopening of markets and shops in non-containment zones, fromTuesday.

While there will be no relaxations in containmentzones, shops and offices in non-containment zone can remainopen between 8 am and 4 pm, said Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

However, such business and commercial establishmentsneed to follow odd-even formula, wherein only 50 per centestablishments can remain open on any given day.

Moreover, the government has also allowed reopening ofbarber shops and salons in non-containment zones besides shopsselling paan masala.

Restaurant and eateries can remain open for takeawayorders only, Rupani said.

He also announced resumption of bus and autorickshawservice across the state, barring a few places. PJT PDRSY RSY
