Gujarat Coronavirus toll reaches to 7, after a 52-year-old dies in Vadodara

A 52-year-old man from Vadodara died due to the coronavirus infection on Thursday, taking the total death toll in Gujarat to seven. The total number of positive cases in Gujarat is 87.
The man was under treatment in Vadodara's SSG Hospital and he had a travel history of Sri Lanka.
"The deceased had travel history of Sri Lanka and was admitted in the SSG hospital Vadodara on March 19. He had been complaining of COVID-19 symptoms. Whereas, all the family members who accompanied him to Sri Lanka were admitted and are stable," said Jayanti Ravi, the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department.
"Apart from that, no new positive cases have been found since yesterday evening. Out of the total 87 positive cases, 33 had travelled to abroad while eight had visited in other states of the country, and 46 infections have been transmitted locally," added Ravi.
"Total 18,852 persons are under Quarantine in the state, where 17,666 persons are under home Quarantine, 904 persons are in government facilities and 282 are undergoing Quarantine in private facilities. Total 418 FIR have been filed against violation of Quarantine," added Ravi.
"We have had total 1,789 samples for testing of COVID-19 so far, out of that 1,693 have been found negative, 87 positive and 9 are pending," added Ravi.
Seven people have been discharged from the quaratine facilities after being treated, a source said.
