Mumbai, Apr 24 () The Maharashtra government hasamended its revised lockdown guidelines to allow carrying outof pre-monsoon-related works in Mumbai, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, badly hit by the coronavirus outbreak.

In its revised guidelines issued on April 21 regardingrelaxation of lockdown rules, the government had withdrawn allconcessions to Mumbai and Pune regions, which account for abulk of the more than 6,000 coronavirus cases in Maharashtra.

However, in an order issued on Thursday, thegovernment said all pre-monsoon related works, includingmetro rail and any work permitted by the municipalcommissioners of these three cities, will be allowed.

Bedside, attendants and care givers of senior citizensresiding in their homeswill also be allowed to functionduring the lockdown, the order said.

The government has relaxed norms for some otheractivities in rest of the state provided social distancingmeasures are followed.

In relaxation to agriculture and horticulture,facilities for export/import such as pack houses, inspectionand treatment facilities for seeds and horticulture produce,research establishments, inter and intra-state movement ofplanting materials, honey bee colonies, honey and otherbeehive products have been permitted, it said.

Essential goods supply will include food processingunits like bread factories, milk processing plants, flourmills and dal mills, the order said.

Shops selling electric fans have been included inrelaxations provided to private and commercialestablishments,it said.

The order said responsibility of implementing socialdistancing and proper hygiene practices while carrying outthese activities will be with the headof the organisationconcerned to ensure compliance with lockdown norms. MRGovtallows pre-monsoon works in coronavirus-hit Mumbai, Pune
