Exercise caution, follow COVID-19 guidelines, Rajasthan DGP appeals to people

Jaipur, Jun 13 () Rajasthan Director General of Police Bhupendra Singh on Saturday appealed the people of the state to carefully follow the guidelines issued by the Department of Health to avoid contracting the coronavirus infection.

He said effective action is being taken by the police under the Rajasthan Epidemic Ordinance evoked for the curbing the contagion in the state.

Instead of getting terrified by the virus, one needs to exercise caution as carelessness can prove fatal, the police chief said in a statement.

It is necessary to wear masks, keep a physical distance and take other precautions including washing hands. Also activities are prohibited from 9 am to 5 am as per the prescribed provisions, he said.

He said that under the the Rajasthan Epidemic Ordinance, challans are being done issued against shopkeepers not wearing masks in public places, spitting in public places, not keep the prescribed safe physical distance and selling goods to people not wearing masks.

So far, more than 80,000 people have been fined. Cases of misuse of social media are also being monitored carefully, Singh said. AG NSD NSD
