COVID-19: TMC asks shopkeepers to practice social distancing

Thane, Apr 22 () The Thane Municipal Corporation onWednesday warned shopkeepers in Maharashtras Thane city topractice social distancing while catering to citizens or faceclosure of their establishments.

Thane Municipal Commissioner Vijay Singhal reviewedthe arrangements made by the civic body to stem the spread ofcoronavirus in the city.

The civic chief warned that shopkeepers who failed tofollow the norms of social distancing will have to faceclosure of their establishments.

He directed senior civic officials to strictly followprocedure while dealing with high-risk contacts of COVID-19patients and people living in containment zones.

Singhal asked assistant commissioners of all wards toco-ordinate with the local police and corporators whileimplementing the COVID-19 directives.

People quarantined at Bhayandar Pada facility, whohave tested positive for the virus, will be shifted to theThane Civil Hospital immediately, he added. CORARU ARU
