COVID-19: Officials go around cautioning localsin Aurangabad

Aurangabad, May 5 () As the number of COVID-19cases crossed 300 in Maharashtra's Aurangabad city, senioradministrators took to the streets to urge people to followthe lockdown norms strictly.

The count of coronavirus cases reached 321 in thecity, after 24 persons tested positive for the virus onTuesday.

Armed with portable loudspeakers, divisionalcommissioner Sunil Kendrekar and municipal commissioner AstikKumar Pandey went around the city on Monday, urging people toremain indoors, as the lockdown entered its third phase.

A video of the two administrators went viral on socialmedia on Tuesday.

"Youngsters carry the COVID-19 infection into theirhomes. Even if they recover, they may end up losing theirloved ones because of negligence. Despite our attempts, deathsdue to coronavirus were reported in Aurangabad," Kendrekarsaid in the video, asking people to stay indoors. AWARU ARU
