COVID-19: Death toll rises to 41 in AP; 54 fresh cases take
Amaravati, May 8 (): The growing number ofcoronavirus cases outside the hotspots has become a cause forconcern as 54 more people tested positive in the last 24hours, while three COVID-19 deaths were reported in AndhraPradesh on Friday.
The total number of coronavirus positive cases hasreached 1,887 and the toll 41.
With 62 patients discharged in the last 24 hoursending 9 am on Friday, the total number of those fullyrecovered increased to 842, leaving 1,004 active cases, thelatest COVID-19 bulletin said.
Anantapuramu recorded 16 fresh cases, taking thedistrict tally to 99, Visakhapatnam added 11 (total 57) andWest Godavari 9 (total 68).
Chittoor district added three new cases whileVizianagaram the green district that turned orange onThursday reported one more case, taking its count to four.
The three major hotspots, Kurnool, Guntur and Krishna,registered seven, one and six fresh cases, taking theirrespective tally to 547, 374 and 322.
Kurnool district also reported two more deaths in thelast 24 hours while there was one casualty in Visakhapatnam.
The COVID-19 dashboard said in all 1,56,681 tests wereconducted in the state till date, of which 1,54,794 turnednegative. DBV SS
