COVID-19 death toll climbs to 182 in UP; 269 fresh cases

Lucknow, May 27 () With five fatalities, the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 182 in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, while 269 fresh cases of the disease were registered in the state.

So far, a total of 6,991 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state.

In a statement issued here, Dr Vikasendu Agrawal, Joint Director and State Surveillance Officer, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), said, "One death has been reported each from Meerut, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Gorakhpur and Muzaffarnagar."

Of the 182 COVID-19 deaths reported from the state, 33 are from Agra, 23 from Meerut, 15 from Aligarh, 11 each from Kanpur Nagar and Moradabad and nine from Firozabad.

Of the 269 fresh cases, 29 are from Hapur, 23 from Ayodhya, 17 from Jaunpur, 14 from Moradabad, 13 each from Meerut and Lucknow, 11 from Muzaffarnagar and 10 from Sambhal.

So far, 3,991 COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered. The count of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 2,818. NAV RC
