COVID-19 cases rise to 500 in U'khand

Dehradun, May 28 () COVID-19 cases in Uttarakhand rose to 500 on Thursday with 31 more people testing positive.

Ten of the new cases were reported from Tehri district, nine from Dehradun, eight from Haridwar, three from Almora and one from Nainital district, a state health department bulletin here said. Most of the new patients had returned from Maharashtra, it said. There are 414 active cases in the state at present, the health department bulletin said.

One cancer patient who died at a private hospital in Nainital district on Thursday also tested positive for COVID-19 posthumously. However, it is not clear what caused his death. He was under treatment for cancer at a Delhi hospital for four months before he was admitted at a private hospital in Nainital on May 20. ALM ANB ANB
