Coronavirus: Work from home, leave for BMC staff above 55

Mumbai, May 1 () The civic body in Mumbai has askedits staff above the age of 55 years to work from home orabstain from field duties, while those with comorbidities havebeen given leave for two weeks in view of the coronavirusoutbreak, officials said on Friday.

This includes emergency staff like doctors, nurses andparamedics, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officialsaid.

"Emergency staff above the age of 55 withcormorbidities like hypertension, diabetes, heart and kidneyailments among others have been asked to stay at home for twoweeks," said a BMC spokesperson.

However, attendance is absolutely compulsory for allother staff employed in office and on field assignments,officials added. KKBNM BNM
