Coronavirus scare forces a Noida school to shut down, all exams cancelled

Parent community, a known school in Noida shuts down after the person who tested positive in Delhi on March 2, attended a birthday party last week, where his children, along with their schoolmates, were present. Uttar Pradesh medical authorities are on the way to make the necessary checkups. The girl whose father was detected with the infection was a Class 6 student in a Noida school. Health department officials have visited the campus and collected samples of two school kids.
The school is located in Sector 135, Noida and has asked parents to pick up their children, according to a TOI report.
The school has cancelled all examinations till further orders. After collecting the samples of students, the medical authorities have sent at least 40 students of the school to a 28-day quarantine period, the Chief Medical Officer, Gautam Buddh Nagar, told IANS.
According to The Quint, the Ministry of Health has reached out to everyone who were present at the birthday party, and the tests are being conducted for those. The ministry has also advised them to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Health minister, Harsh Vardhan has advised people to refrain from non-essential travel to Iran, Korea, China and Singapore.
The epidemic has spread over 70 countries now and has so far infected more than 88,000 people, including over 80,000 in China.
