Haryana now has more than 7200 cases but the government says recovery rate is getting better

The Coronavirus pandemic has triggered panic across the country. Haryana has 7208 state Coronavirus positive cases.

In Haryana, patients suffering from coronavirus have shown good recovery in the last one week, an official said on June 14. A total of 1,523 patients have recovered whereas 2,797 new patients were admitted in health facilities or home isolated in same period.

Gurugram currently has 2,329 cases which is almost 45% of the total cases in the state of Haryana.

Haryana will open schools in July and in colleges and universities in August, state Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said. "We will reopen schools in a phased manner by starting teaching work for Classes 10, 11 and 12 from July 1, for Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX after 15 days and for the primary classes in August. The classes will be held in shifts so that half the students of a class attend the first shift and the rest come in the second. We are yet to decide on the timings of the shifts," IANS quoted Gujjar.

No travel pass is required to cross the Delhi-Haryana border from Monday, the Haryana government has announced.

"The traffic movement is completely smooth between Gurugram and Delhi, and Faridabad and Delhi and so is elsewhere," a senior police official told IANS.

The news comes at a time when the number of coronavirus cases in Gurugram have been doubling. Gurugram Civil Surgeon Dr JS Punia told IANS, "The total cases have now jumped to 677, including 450 active cases. In the last 5 days, 393 cases have been reported in the city."

With Lockdown 4.0, the government has relaxed several norms. An officer said that for the 8 districts of Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, Panipat, Nuh, Palwal, Jhajjar and Panchkula, permissions would be granted on the basis of Development Block/Town or Zone (in case of MC) level assessment.

The Haryana government has allowed partial movement between Delhi and Gurugram after fresh guidelines issued by the home ministry on Wednesday. With this, bus services between Delhi and Gurugram will resume after nearly two months, reported IANS.

A number of measures were announced by the Haryana government for the industries. IANS reported that a spokesperson for the Department of Industry and Commerce said the measures include waiver of rent due against all government, Panchayati Raj Institutions, urban local bodies' buildings and shops, including start-ups in the incubators of the Department of Information Technology from March 15 to May 31. He also announced 50 per cent waiver of simple interest and extension of deferment period from the present limit of April 30 to May 31 for all dues payable to government departments, boards, corporations and authorities.

The Gurugram administration has declared 24 containment and 16 buffer zones in the district.

Six new containment zones are: Aardee City's A, B, C blocks, Palam Vihar, Sirhaul village's lane 1, lane 7 and lane 6B, Dundehera, New Palam Vihar and sector 12.

Ganpati Vatika, Tripat Colony Mohalla, Bhood para, Sector 39, sector 47 and some part of Sirhaul village have come out of the containment zone.

Gurugram DistricT Magistrate Amit Khatri said Gurugram had 13 containment and equal number of buffer zones. Sohna had 9 containment and 2 buffer zones, and Pataudi 2 containment and 1 buffer zone, he added.

With coronavirus cases on the rise in India, the Gurugram district administration has released stricter guidelines for entry and exit from the region. The district magistrate for Gurugram Amit Khatri has announced that measures have been taken to ensure safety and restrict the spread of the virus.

The district administration said that people living in Gurugram and working in Delhi or vice versa will have to look for accommodation according to their work area so as to minimise travel across borders.

If someone has to travel under unforeseen circumstances, they will have to have the Aarogya Setu app installed for contact tracing and will be subject to thermal screening and symptomatic screening at the borders. Rapid Testing Facility might also be implemented if the case arises.

In Lockdown 3.0, while alcohol shops have opened up, the crowding at these stores meant that the government had to take measures. Liquor will be costlier in Haryana too as the state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, on Tuesday decided to impose a Covid-19 cess on all brands, including country made.

Meanwhile, Haryana's residents can now apply for a lockdown pass online to facilitate movement. They can apply at https://saralharyana.gov.in.

With the shortage of labour and transportation owing to the lockdown in the country, IANS reported that harvesting wheat crop has turned into herculean task for farmers in the northern states of Punjab and Haryana.

Meanwhile, Khattar announced an increased ex gratia to state employees involved in the battle to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Now doctors will be entitled to Rs 50 lakh, nurses Rs 30 lakh and other employees, government or contractual, Rs 20 lakh. Earlier, the ex gratia amount was Rs 10 lakh.

The Haryana government has appointed 447 doctors and created a revolving fund of ₹100 crore for each crucial departments to battle the coronavirus, officials said on Tuesday. It was decided that testing facilities at four private laboratories would begin and 50 per cent of their capacity would be reserved for the government to use.

The cost of tests referred by the state Health Department to these facilities would be borne by the state.
