CM Thackeray discusses coronavirus situation with central team

Mumbai, May 7 () Maharashtra health minister RajeshTope said that a central government team held a meeting withChief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday and suggested thatmore people should be placed in institutional quarantine.

The number of coronavirus cases in the state hascrossed 17,000.

"The state government has issued necessaryinstructions to the BMC (Mumbai civic body) administration toincrease its capacity for institutional quarantine," Topesaid.

There are 64 laboratories in the state and 9,000 to10,000 tests for COVID-19 are being carried out on dailybasis, he said. NDKRK KRK
