List of bank holidays in May 2020 — Buddha Purnima, Eid and May Day

- The two main banking holidays in May for banks are Buddha Purnima on May 7 and Eid on May 7.
- In Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, only May 1 will be a holiday for banks.

However, some states like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur and others don’t have a day off on Buddha Purnima.
Though Eid is a national holiday, banks in Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, won’t be taking the day off. In fact, in those two union territories (UTs), only May 1 — May Day — will be a banking holiday.
Some states will be celebrating regional holidays like region-specific holidays like in West Bengal on May 8 on the occasion of the Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary.
