C'garh: COVID-19 cases rise to 95

Raipur/Raigarh, May 18 () With three persons,including two migrant workers, testing positive forcoronavirus in Chhattisgarh on Monday, the total number of theCOVID-19 cases in the state has risen to 95, officials said.

While two cases are reported from Raigarh district,another case is reported from Surajpur district, they said.

Two migrant labourers who recently returned toLailunga in Raigarh from Maharashtra tested positive for theviral infection this evening, said Raigarh Collector YashwantKumar.

He said the two workers were kept in a quarantinecentre in Lailunga as a precautionary measure before they wereallowed to go home.

They are being shifted to Raigarh medical college andhospital for treatment, he said.

Earlier in the day, a middle-aged man, who was kept ata quarantine facility in Surajpur after he recently returnedfrom New Delhi, tested positive for the infection, a Healthofficial said.

The COVID-19 count in the state is now 95 but thenumber of active cases stands at 36 as 59 people have beendischarged after recovery, he said.

Of the 36 active cases, 20 are undergoing treatment atthe All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Raipur, six atCOVID hospital Mana Raipur, five at COVID hospital Bilaspurand two at Medical College Hospital Ambikapur, he said.
