Business plan contest to encourage entrepreneurs amid lockdown

Mumbai, May 3 () In an effort to promote aspiringentrepreneurs amid the lockdown-induced situation, a group oftechnocrats has organised a business plan contest to encouragefuture industrial leaders, an official associated with theevent said.

The aim of the Bigleap 2020 online business plancontest is to promote startups and new ideas, the officialsaid, adding this is a business plan pitch competition toboost innovation and the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The contest aims to aid youth by granting exposure toreal-world opportunities, getting business plans judged byhighly accomplished personalities, providing mentoring fromspecialists and opportunities for exploring government schemesto promote entrepreneurship and new ventures, he said.

The Nation Builder Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar VicharMahotsav Samiti, which is hosting the contest, said the winnerwill walk away with Rs 10 lakh. The deadline for registrationand online submission on www.bigleap2020.in is May 10.

"This contest is a fantastic initiative. I hope thiswill send a very positive signal among young entrepreneurs,"Harshadeep Kamble, Secretary (Small and Medium Industries) andDevelopment Commissioner (Industries) of Maharashtra told .

In the preliminary evaluation, the applicants will beevaluated based on their ideas and business model and on thefinal pitch day, those shortlisted will need to present theirpitch deck in the stipulated format.
