Ahmedabad's COVID-19 case count mounts to 15,962; deaths 1,139

Ahmedabad, Jun 12 () The number of COVID-29 patients in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat reached 15,962 after 327 people tested positive in the last 24 hours, the state health department said on Friday.

The death of 22 patients in the last 24 hours, took the number of victims in the district to 1,139, it said in a statement.

As many as 243 patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours, it said.

Of the total 1,416 COVID-19 deaths recorded in the state so far, as many as 1,139 were reported in Ahmedabad district alone. While 1,104 of the victims were from Ahmedabad city, 35 deaths were reported in different villages of the district, it said.

Of the 327 new cases reported in the district, 298 were recorded in Ahmedabad city while 29 patients were from different villages of Ahmedabad district, mainly from Dholka, Viramgam and Sanand talukas.

From amongst the 15,962 cases registered in Ahmedabad district so far, as many as 15,445 were from the city while rest 517 cases were from other parts of the district. PJT PD NP NP
