Act against Awhad for revealing COVID-19 patient's name: BJP

Mumbai, Apr 16 () Two BJP leaders from Maharashtraon Thursday sought action against state minister and NCPleader Jitendra Awhad for allegedly revealing the name of ajournalist, who has tested coronavirus positive recently.

The two BJP leaders- former Lok Sabha member fromMumbai Kirit Somaiya, and sitting MLA from Ghatkopar RamKadam- sought to know from state Home Minister Anil Deshmukhwhat steps he plans to take against Awhad.

In a tweet, Somaiya said, "@AnilDeshmukhNCP in aninterview clipping of @ibnlokmat I show/heard @Awhadspeakstook name of a journalist that 'the journalist is Coronapositive'."

"I asked Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tobook Mr Awhad for violation of COVID19 guidelines," he said.

Kadam also tweeted saying, "Will home minister AnilDeshmukh give a notice to Jitendra Awhad? What will be thecourse of action from Maharashtra police for revealing thename of journalist who has tested positive." NDNP NP
