Deepak Shanbhag, COO of PSIPL, a facility management firm under the aegis of Kalpataru Group, listed down all the steps offices in India can take post-COVID-19 to avoid a second wave of infection.
“This COVID-19 pandemic has put the spotlight on the facility management services with a focus on cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitization. It has called for a renewed view for hygiene and overall facility management to adapt to the new set of challenges through differentiated services,” Shanbhag said.
Here’s a list of all the steps offices can take:
- Avail proactive service and maintenance programmes from here on.
- Adhering to guidelines on hygiene practices by the government, maintaining social distancing, and limiting personnel interaction.
- Officers should set up a protocol for screening at the premise via infra-red thermometers.
- A daily update call on COVID status should be a part of standard operating procedure.
- Keeping details of medics and authorities, reach out details handy.
- Avail basic soft-hygiene services and standby support ensuring basic needs to electricity and water.
- Moving away from an acidic-based cleansing material towards better options.
- A well-articulated cleaning SoP with specifications on what surfaces need to be cleaned the most along with the categorization of disinfectant being used.
- Touchless taps and soap dispensers will gain more importance as we move towards the new normal.
- Keeping a track of occupants and visitors along with a look at symptom visibility for security purposes.
