8 more test COVID-19 positive in Himachal Pradesh, total cases 282
Seven persons, including three from Bilaspur, two from Kangra and one from Hamirpur also recovered from the disease on Thursday, Additional Chief Secretary R D Dhiman said.
Most of the people who tested positive on Thursday had recently returned from outside the state, including from Maharashtra and Delhi, Special Secretary (Health) Nipun Jindal said.
Of the fresh cases, four were from Kangra, three from Solan and one from Mandi district, he added.
In Kangra, two men -- a 60-year-old from Indora and a 30-year-old from Nagrota Bagwan, two women -- one 20-year-old Malehar and a 35-year-old from Dandol, tested positive on Thursday, Jindal added.
They had recently returned from Maharashtra's Thane in a special train and were institutionally quarantined at Parour, he said, adding that they were being shifted to Dadh COVID-19 care centre.
In Solan, a Delhi-returned woman, her 17-year-old son from Ramshehar in Nalagarh tehsil and a 30-year-old woman from Baddi, who had recently returned from Uttar Pradesh''s Shamli, tested positive for COVID-19, Solan District Health Officer (DHO) N K Gupta said.
In Mandi, a 21-year-man from Jogindernagar Mandi also tested positive on Thursday, Jindal said.
Besides, two women patients from Kangra recovered on Thursday. Admitted at COVID-19 care centre at PRT Baijanth, they tested negative on Thursday, Jindal said, adding that they would be discharged on Friday.
The number of active cases in the state now stands at 199. While 77 COVID-19 patients have recovered, six have died, Dhiman added.
Hamirpur has the highest number of active cases at 83. Of the total 93 cases in the district, nine patients have recovered and one has died.
