20 more COVID-19 deaths and 275 new cases in UP Today, Tally reached at 11610 till June 10

Lucknow, Jun 10 () The coronavirus toll in Uttar Pradesh rose to 321 on Wednesday with the biggest single-day spike of 20 deaths, while 275 new cases of the pandemic took the tally to 11,610, the Health Department said.

There are 4,318 active cases of the disease now as 6,971 people have recovered, Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said.

There have been 321 COVID-19 deaths and the number of confirmed cases is 11,610, Prasad said.

Of the 20 fresh deaths on Wednesday, five were reported from Basti, three from Ghaziabad, two each from Jhansi and Mainpuri and one each from Agra, Gautam Budhnagar, Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Aligarh, Hapur, Bulandshahr and Amethi, a health bulletin said.

Of the 275 fresh cases, 52 were reported from Jaunpur; 18 from Gautam Budhnagar; 17 from Gonda; 16 from Baghpat; 13 from Meerut; 12 each from Bulandshahr and Siddhartnagar among others, the bulletin said.

As many as 13 264 samples were tested on Tuesday, the highest so far, Prasad said.

On the tracking of migrants who have returned to the state, Prasad said accredited social health activists (ASHAs) were helping in it by visiting villages and homes.

The ASHAs have tracked over 14.72 lakh migrants, of which over 1,400 were found symptomatic and their samples were sent for testing.

The principal secretary said over 30 lakh workers had returned to the state and tests of over 98,000 has been done, of which 3,185 were found positive for coronavirus. SAB RDK RDK
