Special Secretary (Health) Nipun Jindal said five fresh cases were reported from Hamirpur district, four from Una and one each from Solan and Chamba.
Five members of a family in Hamirpur, who returned from Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi on May 29, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena said.
A 40-year-old woman, her 10-year-old son, a 59-year-old man, his 57-year-old wife and their nine-year-old daughter from Chhaner village at Sujanpur of the district tested positive for COVID-19.
They are family members of a man who was found coronavirus positive earlier.
Ten patients -- seven in Hamirpur, two in Kangra and one in Chamba – have recovered from the disease, Jindal said.
The number of those who have recovered from the disease so far in the state is 286, while 11 COVID-19 patients have migrated out of the state, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman said.
Seven people have died due to the infection in the state.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 178, he added.
Kangra district has the highest number of active cases in the state at 56, followed by Hamirpur (38), Una (25), Sirmaur (12), Chamba and Bilaspur (11 each), Solan (9), Mandi (8), Shimla (4), Kullu and Kinnaur (two each). DJI TDS TDS
