India ranks 118th in World Happiness report; Denmark is the happiest country in the world

Who doesn’t want to be happy? Well, it also depends on which country you are residing in.
As the UN World Happiness Day will be celebrated on March 20, the World Happiness Report 2016 was released, ranking 156 countries by their happiness levels.
Denmark emerged as the happiest country in the world, followed by Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Canada, Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, and Sweden.

India was ranked at 118th spot, followed by Myanmar, Egypt and Armenia.

The World Happiness Report 2016 Update, released in Rome, gave a special role to the measurement and consequences of inequality in the distribution of well-being among countries and regions.
India was among those countries that saw major declines in average life evaluations typically suffered some combination of economic, political and social stresses.
The 10 least happiest countries were Madagascar, Tanzania, Liberia, Guinea, Rwanda, Benin, Afghanistan, Togo, Syria and Burundi.
