Who would have imagined that Infosys, which started in Model Colony in Pune in 1981, would become India’s second largest software company!

In these 35 years, the face of Infosys has completely changed and under the leadership of present CEO Vishal Sikka, it is expected that Infosys will sail upward only.

Started by seven engineers-Narayan Murthy, Nandan Nilekani, N.S Raghvan, S Gopalkrishnan, S.D Shibulal and Ashok Arora- Infosys was first founded as ‘Infosys Consultants Pvt Ltd’ and its name later on changed to ‘Infosys Technologies Limited’ in 1992. It renamed yet again in 2011 as ‘Infosys Limited’.

The company was also a startup once and saw many ups and downs during its functioning. But, the vision of the founders was to grow Infosys and it did happen.

But, did you know it was on the verge of closure once? Right now, Infosys boasts of many centres in India and abroad and has state-of-the-art offices, but there was a time when the company did not even have a computer!
