“What is that life which does not bring comfort to others?” The story of Dabur began with a small, but visionary endeavour by Dr SK Burman, who was a physician living in Bengal. Dr Burman’s aim was to provide affordable cure to ordinary people in far-flung villages.Soon the news of his missionary zeal and fervour travelled, and he came to be known as the trusted ‘Daktar’ (Bengali), or doctor, who introduced numerous effective medicines to cure diseases.
And then, Dabur derived its name from the Devanagri rendition of Daktar Burman (Da + Bur).
Let’s walk in the past to see how Dr Burman's commitment and ceaseless efforts resulted in the company growing from a fledgling medicine manufacturer in a small Calcutta house to a household name, which evokes trust and reliability.
