Motorola has openly touted its Moto G successor to the world with its supposed launch event slated for early next month and India is primed to feature in the scheme of things as well. So, now the question is what happens to the highly successful Moto G variant? Does it get replaced with the Moto G2 or continue to be sold in the market which from business sense has worked wonders for someone like Apple in the country (iPhone 4 comes to mind) or just discontinue with it altogether?

The decision seems to have been made and Motorola by the looks of it has decided its time to close the Moto G chapter and move onto the prospects of its upgrade, called Moto G2. Flipkart, the exclusive sellers of Motorola phones in the country has just posted this sign which talks about Moto G nearing its end and that stocks won’t be replenished any time soon.

There’s no close sentiments coming from Motorola for the Moto G and quite understandably, the company and the online seller is looking to clear the decks to stock up its incoming Moto G2 smartphone. In its attempt to get the Moto G units sold, you now get the chance to buy Moto G 16 GB variant for Rs 11,999 which is not really a bad deal but mind you, with the Moto G2 expected, as early as first week of September, you may want to hold down your pockets for another couple of weeks or so.

Moto G2 Is highly expected to feature 5 inch HD display, packing the Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM and offering 8/16 GB storage. The camera could be bumped up from the current 5 MP on Moto G to an 8 MP quality on the Moto G2 and expect bigger battery unit as well.

We have been given confirmation by Motorola about its launch event in the country sometime early September and now it’s all about waiting to get your hands on the Moto G upgrade which is not that far away from now. Stay tuned to Gizmodo for more on Moto G2.
