People adore him and can die for him because of his style and persona. It is true that he has been mocked and spoofed many times for his looks but he showed his critics what he was made of and presently earns more money and respect than his critics.

Rajnikanth’s debut in Tamil cinema was ‘Apoorva Raagangal’ in 1975 and it received three National Awards.

Apart from Kollywood, Rajnikanth has done movies in Bollywood film industry also.

Rajinikanth comes from a very humble background and most of the people can relate with him. He was born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad to a Marathi family in Bangalore and struggled a lot due to financial issues. He also took up several odd jobs such as carpentering, coolie and bus conductor.

He catches bullets, cuts them with topaz blade and does everything hero like but in real life, he is very simple and appears for promotions and weddings in simple clothes and is not shy from his bald look.

It was Tamil film director K Balachander who noticed him and advised him to learn Tamil, and it was no looking back since then.

He came across an advertisement in one of the buses about acting classes and joined it. The man behind his success is Raj Bahadur, his friend and co-worker who financially backed him then.

Till 1977, Rajnikanth had become a superstar, giving innumerable hits and towards 80s had become a household name

He hasn’t forgotten a single friend of his from the past and whenever he visits Bengaluru, he makes sure to have tea and hang out with his friends from conductor days.

While top stars in Bollywood or even sports are endorsing brands, Rajinikanth has never lent his name to a single brand.

But, all of a sudden, he decided to take a break. But after persuasion, came back to film fraternity.
