LeBron James said he "blew a gasket" and was forced to apologize to his teammates after a bizarre scene in which he just walked off the court without a substitute being available.
The incident came midway through the third quarter with the Cleveland Cavaliers holding a big lead over the Atlanta Hawks. After LeBron was unable to catch a pass, he just walked off the court and sat on the Cavs' bench despite no sub waiting to come into the game.
James signaled to Richard Jefferson to take his spot, but he was unable to get to the scorer's table before the game resumed, leaving the Cavs with just four players on the court. This resulted in a technical foul being called on the Cavs.
After the game, James said he apologized to his teammates without fully explaining to the media what happened.
"I blew a gasket. You know what that mean?" James said after the game. "I apologized to my teammates for it."
