IIT students complete work on 'Nanins' - A Robot that can help India combat deadly water-borne diseases

Students of IIT-Madras, Kanpur, and Roorkee completed work on ‘Nanins’, a robot developed at the Autonomous Systems Lab of ETH Zurich.
The machine has the potential of keeping waterborne diseases at bay as it detects its presence by reading dissolved oxygen, reduced oxygen, pH, temperature and conductivity.
Work on the device was completed when the students from India’s most premier institution branches started working with ETH Zurich students during a workshop in IIT Madras campus four days back.
Even as the robot was brought from Zurich where it was developed, IIT students designed the wings for the robot in less than four days.
Their contribution in 'Nanins' has been a major one as it now helps the robot glide in water.
