Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Tuesday was named as the captain of the International Cricket Council's Test and ODI teams of the year. Three Indian players feature in the Test team and four in the ODI team.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah and Kohli are part of the Test team. Whereas, the ODI Team has Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kohli.

Virat Kohli has become the first player in history to win the ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards.

Players from India and England dominate the ODI Team, while India and New Zealand dominate the Test format of the game.

Interestingly, Kohli and Bumrah feature in both the teams. During the voting period, from January 1 to December 31, 2018 India won six and and lost seven tests.

Kohli’s stats are astounding — 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 with five centuries in 13 Tests and 1,202 runs at an average of 133.55 with six hundreds in 14 ODIs.

In a suprise, a lone Australian made it to the Test team. Had Australia’s Steven Smith and David Warner not been under a ban by the ICC for ball-tampering, this picture would have been a little different.
