Kohli is player no. 1 says ICC T20 rankings, India too firmly stands at top slot

Thanks to his powerful performances in the ongoing T20 World Cup, Delhi lad Virat Kohli has been named the top-ranked batsman in the ICC rankings. Team India has maintained its position at the No.1 spot in the team list.

As per a statement from ICC, Kohli, who has a brilliant average of 92 after scoring 184 runs in four matches with a strike-rate of over 132, had entered the tournament 24 points behind Aaron Finch, but has now opened up a 68-point advantage over the Australian.

Talking of the bowlers, West Indies' Samuel Badree has bagged the top spot from Indian off-spinner R. Ashwin. With six wickets in four matches, he has left behind Ashwin who managed just one wicket per match in the four matches that he played in.

Team India will now face the third-ranked West Indies in Mumbai on Thursday, to decide which team gets into the Finals with the winning team amongst New Zealand and England.
